             Vero Beach proved they can win big  last Thursday (they won by 27) but  on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Heritage Panthers  10-7. The ten-point effort marked the Indians' lowest-scoring  match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
 Vero Beach found their leader in underclassman  Champ Monds, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 116 yards  on nine of 13 attempts. Those 83  rushing yards set a new season-high mark for  Monds.
 Vero Beach wouldn't let Heritage keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Vero Beach can thank  Latravious Woods and  Kevin Benjamin for forcing both of them.
 Vero Beach's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Heritage,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-4.
 Vero Beach didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  35-0  victory vs. Central on the 27th. Heritage has also already played their next game,  a  42-10  win against South Fork on the 27th.
