Softball Game Preview: Melbourne Bulldogs vs. Osceola Kowboys

The Melbourne Bulldogs will face off against the Osceola Kowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Osceola took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Melbourne, who comes in off a win.

Osceola will be up against a hot Melbourne team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Bulldogs came out on top against Lake Mary by a score of 6-2 on Monday.

Brooklynn Steidl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Layna Ayala was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brookelynn Dolin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Osceola fell victim to East River and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Osceola saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Milanys Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

The win got Melbourne back to even at 12-12. As for Osceola, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.
