Mater Dei Catholic had already won nine in a row and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They came out on top against the San Ysidro Cougars by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Saturday.

Mater Dei Catholic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.

Ethan Bundang went supernova, getting 22 digs. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April of 2024. John Lee also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Mater Dei Catholic's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. As for San Ysidro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-7.

Mater Dei Catholic has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Santana on the 1st. As for San Ysidro, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Escondido Charter at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th.
