Monument Valley suffers tenth straight loss on the road

The Monument Valley Cougars suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Monticello 57-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Monument Valley has suffered against Monticello since January 23, 2018.

Despite the loss, Monument Valley still got an impressive performance from Braxton Goodshield, who scored 14 points.

Monument Valley's loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-12. As for Monticello, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monument Valley will take on Red Mesa at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Mesa will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 326th in Arizona, while Monument Valley is ranked 137th in Utah). As for Monticello, they will play host again and welcome Dove Creek, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dove Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
