Softball Game Preview: Ridgewood Rebels vs. Aurora East Tomcats

The Ridgewood Rebels will take on the Aurora East Tomcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgewood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Ridgewood beat Fenton 9-5.

Megan Moe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ridgewood got a massive performance out of Tessa Hanson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lilly Pedd, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Ridgewood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Aurora East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 18-3 to Westmont. That's two games in a row now that the Tomcats have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Aurora East's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Ridgewood, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
