Soccer Game Preview: Wagner vs. Tivy

Wagner is 1-9 against Tivy since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds will square off against the Antlers at 7:15 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wagner fell victim to New Braunfels and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Unicorns. While losing is never fun, Wagner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 620th, while New Braunfels are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, Tivy also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 2-0 to New Braunfels on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for Tivy in their meetings with New Braunfels: they've now lost three in a row.

Wagner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Tivy, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Wagner might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Tivy in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
