Volleyball Recap: Rock Hill Takes a Loss

If Rock Hill was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Pointe on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bearcats fell 3-1 to the Catawba Ridge Copperheads on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Copperheads this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 25-14.

Hannah Anderson paced Rock Hill's offense, picking up eight kills. Anderson got some help from Ella Lesslie and her 15 assists. Mattie Kline controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Catawba Ridge was led to victory by Davin Freeman and Avery Thomas. Freeman had 12 digs and three assists, while Thomas had six digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Thomas a new career-high in assists (three).

Rock Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Catawba Ridge, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-12-1.

Rock Hill has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against South Pointe on the 15th. As for Catawba Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Clover on the 16th.
