Basketball Recap: Peyton Piles Up the Points Against Fowler

There's no place like home for Peyton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 45-8 victory over the Fowler Grizzlies. That 37 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Leading Peyton to victory were Scarlett Clark and Brynlee Rizzuto. Clark posted 15 points along with eight rebounds and six steals, while Rizzuto went 7-for-16 on her way to 16 points and three steals. Those 16 points gave Rizzuto a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of ArRhiya Brown, who put up four points and four blocks.

Peyton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

Peyton pushed their record up to 10-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.3 points over those games. As for Fowler, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Looking ahead, Peyton will face off against The Colorado Springs School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fowler, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-31 victory against Crowley County on the 22nd.
