Basketball Recap: Cimarron Takes a Loss

Cimarron was the 45-41 winner over Southwestern Heights when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cimarron Bluejays fell to the Southwestern Heights Mustangs 59-54. That's two games in a row now that the Bluejays have lost by exactly five points.

Cimarron has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Southwestern Heights, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Cimarron Bluejays challenge the Hugoton Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwestern Heights, they will challenge Lakin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern Heights is on a three-game streak of home wins, Lakin a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
