Baseball Game Preview: LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls vs. Estero Wildcats

The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls will square off against the Estero Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (LaBelle 3.9, Estero 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

LaBelle is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over DeSoto County on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Cowboys/Cowgirls as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ty Murray was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for LaBelle: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Carmelo Ramirez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Estero posted their closest win since February 13th on Friday. They skirted past Bonita Springs 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Evan Goeller was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sandro Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Estero's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for LaBelle, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

LaBelle might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Estero in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can LaBelle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
