Football Recap: Rancho Bernardo Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Rancho Bernardo dropped to 7-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They were beaten by the Mission Hills Grizzlies 56-0. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 14th).

Gaige Weddle threw for 142 yards on 14 of 26 attempts. Hugo Gonzalez was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards. On the ground, Brody Cella rushed for 40 yards.

As for Mission Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Troy Huhn was his usual excellent self, throwing for 136 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 72 yards and one score. Mission Hills' leading receiver Josh Gonzales was Huhn's top target yet again, picking up 45 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Rancho Bernardo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 32-21 victory against Poway on the 30th. Mission Hills has also already played their next matchup (against San Marcos), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
