Montague entered their tilt with Fruitport on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 7-3. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 12-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cole Herremans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cole Moss was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellan Francis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Montague's win bumped their record up to 19-7-1. As for Fruitport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Montague will take on Spring Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fruitport, they are taking a road trip to take on Reeths-Puffer at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
