Football Game Preview: Alleghany Cougars vs. Fort Defiance Indians + How To Watch

The Alleghany Cougars will take on the Fort Defiance Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Alleghany earned a 36-29 victory over Riverheads.

Haiden Nicely was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 259 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 33 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Defiance). They claimed a resounding 54-7 win over Rockbridge County. With the Indians ahead 28-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.8 points over those games. As for Fort Defiance, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Alleghany against Fort Defiance in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 47-13 win. In that matchup, the Cougars amassed a halftime lead of 28-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
