Costa Mesa gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Magnolia Sentinels 56-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Mustangs just coasted through the last quarter.

Gavin Garza had a dynamite game, rushing for 151 yards and four scores on only ten carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Andrew Waiss, who rushed for 52 yards and one TD.
