Baseball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Winthrop's offense. They lost 14-0 to the Swampscott Big Blue on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Big Blue this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 back in April.

Winthrop dropped their record down to 5-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Swampscott, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Coincidentally, Winthrop and Swampscott will both be playing Gloucester the next time they take the field. The Big Blue will host the Fishermen at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Vikings will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
