Soccer Game Preview: Centennial vs. Willow Canyon

The Centennial Coyotes will head out to challenge the Willow Canyon Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Centennial didn't have quite enough to beat Metro Tech and fell 5-4. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

They hit Metro Tech with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Owen Collins (2), Ulysses Maanum, and Bryan Nguyen.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Willow Canyon's offense. They came up short against Notre Dame Prep on Monday, falling 4-0. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly four goals.

Centennial now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Willow Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Centennial was able to grind out a solid victory over Willow Canyon when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
