It was fun while it lasted, but Remington's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Friday. They fell just short of the Bennington Bulldogs by a score of 39-36. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Broncos came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Bulldogs are ranked 51st).

Having lost for the first time this season, Remington fell to 5-1. As for Bennington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Remington will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chaparral on January 7, 2025. Remington's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Chaparral's offense will have their work cut out for them. Bennington will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Moundridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
