Basketball Recap: River Valley Takes a Loss

River Valley lost against Darlington back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The River Valley Blackhawks were outmatched by the Darlington Redbirds and fell 77-50. While losing is never fun, the Blackhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Redbirds are ranked 74th).

River Valley now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Darlington, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

Coming up, River Valley will be playing at home against Platteville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Platteville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully River Valley likes a good challenge. As for Darlington, they will venture away from home to challenge Riverdale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
