Volleyball Recap: Plainfield Central's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Plainfield Central had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Timothy Christian Trojans 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since May 16, 2024.

Leading Plainfield Central to victory were Owen Pehle and Cam Swidergal. Pehle had three digs and three aces, while Swidergal had seven digs and three assists. Those three assists gave Swidergal a new career-high. Jaden Frankiewicz also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Plainfield Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-15. As for Timothy Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Plainfield Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Joliet West on the 29th. As for Timothy Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Illiana Christian on the 28th.
