Basalt and Gunnison are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Basalt finally turned things around against Coal Ridge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Titans by a score of 3-1.

Basalt had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Gunnison had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Skiers as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
