Recap: Elgin Comets vs. North Baltimore Tigers
The Elgin Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 32 points or more this season. They breezed by North Baltimore on the road to the tune of 61-26. Given Elgin's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while North Baltimore is ranked 760th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elgin found their leader in underclassman Maycee Muselin, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Delainy Boles, who scored eight points.
North Baltimore's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenna Ducat, who scored three points along with 12 rebounds. Alex Greeno was another key contributor, scoring six points.
North Baltimore struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Elgin racked up 15 assists.
Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for North Baltimore, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Elgin will be home for the holidays to greet Northmor at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Baltimore, they will head out on the road to face off against Maumee Valley Country Day at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Maumee Valley Country Day comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
