Softball Recap: Northeast Wins Going Away Against Seminole

Northeast made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Seminole, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Vikings put the hurt on the Warhawks with a sharp 9-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Danielle Brunner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Lauren Fernald and Makayla Simon did most of the damage at the plate: Fernald scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Simon scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Fernald posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Twinam, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Northeast hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.

Northeast now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Seminole, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Looking ahead, Northeast will venture away from home to challenge Palmetto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seminole, they will host Clearwater Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
