Soccer Game Preview: Oak Harbor vs. Lynden Christian

The Oak Harbor Wildcats will head out to face off against the Lynden Christian Lyncs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Lynden Christian will have to contend with a Oak Harbor team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since March 20. Oak Harbor lost 5-0 to Mount Vernon on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in March, Lynden Christian was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and Meridian finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw. The outcome might've been different if Gunnar Parriera hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Harvest Howell was the only thing that stood between Lynden Christian and a shutout considering he scored both of Lynden Christian's goals, bringing his season total up to 11 goals.

Lynden Christian's draw gives them a new season record of 3-5-2. As for Oak Harbor, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-2.

Oak Harbor came out on top in a nail-biter against Lynden Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
