Basketball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

The Centennial Golden Hawks were beaten by the Buchanan Bears 80-49 on Saturday. The game marked the Golden Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ryan Shaw and Jesus Estrada certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Shaw almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards, while Estrada posted six points. Bruce Francisco was another key player, putting up nine points.

Among those leading the charge was Des Patton, who had no points and eight assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Centennial fell to 4-1. As for Buchanan, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Centennial has already played their next matchup, an 80-52 victory against California City on the 10th. As for Buchanan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-36 win against Mission College Prep on the 11th.
