Recap: Clermont Northeastern Rockets vs. Blanchester Wildcats

There's no place like home for the Clermont Northeastern Rockets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against Blanchester by a score of 55-42 on Tuesday. Given Clermont Northeastern's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Blanchester is ranked 664th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clermont Northeastern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Yeager, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Yeager is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Parker Woolery was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and four steals.

Clermont Northeastern's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Blanchester, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clermont Northeastern won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Taft at 7:15 p.m. on January 3rd. Taft knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Clermont Northeastern likes a good challenge. As for Blanchester, they will be playing at home against East Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
