Preview: Walton-Verona vs. Paintsville
On Friday Paintsville take on Walton-Verona at 7:30 PM. The squad will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
Paintsville had enough points to win and then some against Lawrence County last Friday, taking their contest 21-6. The success made it back-to-back wins for Paintsville.
Meanwhile, Walton-Verona put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They made easy work of Owen County and carried off a 34-0 victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Walton-Verona had established a 27-0 advantage.
Their wins bumped Walton-Verona to 5-1 and Paintsville to 4-2. In their win, Walton-Verona relied heavily on senior Micah Alford, who rushed for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns. Paintsville will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
