Baseball Recap: Caledonia's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Caledonia was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Rushford-Peterson on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the Pine Island Panthers by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Garrett Konz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Caledonia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon O'Heron, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Caledonia's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Pine Island, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-5.

Caledonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pine Island, they will face off against Winona at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
