Softball Recap: U-32 Takes Down Ranked Randolph

U-32 faced Randolph in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Raiders blew past the Ghosts 21-2. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Ghosts: they've now won four in a row.

Megan Pittsley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Elena Noyes was a standout: she went 3-for-6 with one home run, eight RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Grace Noyes, who went 5-for-6 with five runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

U-32 was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Randolph only posted a batting average of .130.

U-32's record now sits at 5-2. As for Randolph, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. U-32 will square off against Peoples Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Randolph, they will face off against Harwood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
