Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Perry Central's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Perry Central proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Boonville Pioneers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Commodores have posted since August 30th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Perry Central got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 17-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-10.

Masen Labhart paced Perry Central's offense, picking up 24 kills. Labhart got some help from Mya Litherland and her 28 assists. Labhart was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Perry Central has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Boonville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Perry Central will head out to square off against South Spencer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Boonville, they will venture away from home to challenge Evansville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
