Softball Recap: Messalonskee Comes Up Short

Messalonskee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Skowhegan River Hawks. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Messalonskee's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Skowhegan, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Messalonskee is set to challenge their familiar foe Oxford Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Skowhegan will face off against rival Mt. Ararat at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
