Softball Recap: Scripps Ranch Gets the Win

Scripps Ranch had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Central Spartans by a score of 9-4. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Lily Eigen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Eigen was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katelyn Toth, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Natalie Savary, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Scripps Ranch has already played their next match (against San Dieguito Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Central, they will face off against Mission Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
