Basketball Recap: Polk County Takes a Loss

Polk County lost against McMinn Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Polk County Wildcats were beaten by the McMinn Central Chargers 83-26. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Chargers are ranked seventh).

Polk County has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for McMinn Central, the win (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Polk County is facing Sweetwater at the right time seeing as Sweetwater is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for McMinn Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Walker Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
