Basketball Recap: Summit's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Summit waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Bend Lava Bears by a score of 62-53. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Storm also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Bend still got an impressive performance from Cash Hattenhauer, who went 6 for 15 en route to 19 points. Hattenhauer's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Max Duncan, who posted six points.

Summit's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Bend, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Summit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-69 loss against Caldera on the 30th. As for Bend, they have also already played their next matchup, a 68-60 defeat against Redmond on the 30th.
