Football Recap: Dalton Blakeney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Lakes over Battlefield + How To Watch

The South Lakes Seahawks were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 20-16 to the Battlefield Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Bobcats are ranked seventh).

Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dalton Blakeney, who rushed for 69 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 72 receiving yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Lakes fell to 2-1. As for Battlefield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, South Lakes will be playing in front of their home fans against West Potomac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Battlefield, they will take on Gar-Field at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
