Rowlett has gone 8-2 against Garland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Rowlett Eagles take on the Garland Owls at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Rowlett is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 74-30 win over Naaman Forest. The Eagles didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Meanwhile, Garland was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Naaman Forest 55-27. The Owls pushed the score to 41-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rangers had little chance of recovering from.

Garland found their leader in freshman Zoe Sample, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. Sample has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Zaquita Skinner was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Garland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Garland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Rowlett, their win bumped their record up to 9-16.

Rowlett came out on top in a nail-biter against Garland when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 34-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rowlett since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
