Basketball Recap: Orange Lutheran Comes Up Short

Orange Lutheran lost against Rancho Verde back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lancers took a 71-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

When it comes to explaining why Orange Lutheran lost, don't look at Josh King. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. That was a full 40.3% of the Lancers' points, marking the third time in a row King has scored more than a third of the team's points. Kam Young was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Orange Lutheran's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Rancho Verde, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Coincidentally, Orange Lutheran and Rancho Verde will both be playing Sonora the next time they take the court. The Lancers will head out to face the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
