After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pace, Donna was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Weslaco East Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. The Redskins were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Wildcats, so the Redskins were just returning the favor.

Donna not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Weslaco East between 19 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.

Kaylee-Star Howell paced Donna's offense, picking up 11 kills. Howell got some help from Sarah Garcia and her 13 assists. Victoria Lopez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Donna's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Weslaco East, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Donna is set to challenge their familiar foe Harlingen South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Weslaco East will take on rival Porter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
