Pinecrest has gone 9-1 against Hoke County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Bucks at 6:00 p.m. Pinecrest will be strutting in after a victory while Hoke County will be coming in after a loss.
On Thursday, Pinecrest was able to grind out a solid win over Pine Forest, taking the game 3-1. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Pinecrest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-18, 27-25.
Pinecrest can attribute much of their success to Aubrey Taylor, who had 18 digs and three aces, and Mollie Colasacco, who had 11 digs. What's more, Taylor posted four assists, the most she's had since back in September.
They weren't the only good servers: Pinecrest was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Hoke County unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Richmond Senior by a score of 3-2.
Hoke County actually scored more points across those five sets (103-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-22, 9-25, 25-18, 15-12.
Pinecrest's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Hoke County, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 17-3.
