Baseball Recap: Peak to Peak Takes a Loss

After flying high against Valley on Monday, Peak to Peak came back down to earth. The Pumas fell just short of the Jefferson Academy Jaguars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Pumas were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Dane Hirt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Owen Branscum, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Peak to Peak's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Jefferson Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-17 record this season.

Peak to Peak and Jefferson Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Pumas will take on Gunnison at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Peak to Peak will need to watch out since the Cowboys have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Jefferson Academy, they will face off against Montezuma-Cortez at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
