Baseball Recap: Ridgeland Takes a Loss

Ridgeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Northwest Whitfield Bruins, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Tuesday.

Ridgeland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Koltin Webb, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Webb is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 6-11 when he doesn't).

Ridgeland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Northwest Whitfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

While Ridgeland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
