Baseball Recap: Weimar Wildcats vs. Shiner Comanches

Weimar had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-9 to make it seven. They fell 5-1 to the Shiner Comanches. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comanches this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 back in March.

As for Shiner, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

For Shiner's part, their win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cauy Herman, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Weimar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shiner, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Ganado on the 15th.
