Football Game Preview: John Adams Spartans vs. Bayside Commodores

John Adams hasn't had much luck against Bayside recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Spartans will welcome the Commodores. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

John Adams came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 28-8 to Frank J. Macchiarola. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Sharks are ranked 188th).

Meanwhile, Bayside fell victim to McKee Vo-Tech/Staten Island Tech and their airtight defense on Saturday. They were outmatched by McKee Vo-Tech/Staten Island Tech and fell 30-0.

John Adams' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bayside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

John Adams was taken down by Bayside 28-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
