Basketball Recap: Monsignor Donovan Catholic Comes Up Short

Monsignor Donovan Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westminster Christian Academy Lions. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Westminster Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reed Carson, who went 9 of 12 on his way to 22 points and three steals. Josiah Richards was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Monsignor Donovan Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-7.

Monsignor Donovan Catholic will look to defend their home court on January 21st against Edmund Burke Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Augusta Prep Day at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
