Basketball Game Preview: Jersey Panthers vs. Litchfield Purple Panthers

The Jersey Panthers will take on the Litchfield Purple Panthers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jersey is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Jersey was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-49 to Taylorville.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaxon Brunaugh, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Aiden Kendall was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Litchfield might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Highland an easy 58-32 victory. The loss continues a trend for the Purple Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Jersey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Litchfield, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
