Baseball Recap: Making Waves Academy Comes Up Short

Making Waves Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They came up short against the Brave Christian Lions, falling 23-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Marlins of the 12-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for Brave Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

For Brave Christian's part, Anthony Rotolo and Legend Dorham made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rotolo tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dorham struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Rotolo went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Dorham went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That triple marked the first that Rotolo has hit this season.

In other batting news, Brave Christian got a massive performance out of Caesar Cornelio, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Cornelio also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Levi Heise, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Looking ahead, Making Waves Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Cornerstone Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brave Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against San Lorenzo at 4:00 p.m.
