Football Game Preview: Holy Innocents Episcopal Golden Bears vs. Lovett Lions + How To Watch

The Holy Innocents Episcopal Golden Bears will head out to square off against the Lovett Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Holy Innocents Episcopal 8.8, Lovett 7.6) so any points scored will be well earned.

Holy Innocents Episcopal's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Therrell to the tune of 44-0. Considering the Golden Bears have won three contests by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holy Innocents Episcopal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Woods, who threw for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Khalid Worthy also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Holy Innocents Episcopal didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brayden Bailey, Carson James, and Quinn Best picked up one apiece. Bailey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Lovett had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors, sneaking past 10-7. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Lions were the better team in the second half.

Holy Innocents Episcopal's record now sits at 4-1. As for Lovett, their record is now an identical 4-1.

Holy Innocents Episcopal might still be hurting after the 28-6 defeat they got from Lovett in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Golden Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
