A-6 Southeast (6 Man) Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Trey Scheler and Co. Win Sixth in a Row

Cheyenne Wells picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Trey Scheler. Scheler rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 120 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Cheyenne Wells' victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers faces off against Granada at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tim Provost was a major factor in Cheraw's victory over Wiley on Friday. Wiley had no answer to Provost as he rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 52 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Provost got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 65 yards.

On the season, Provost has caught 4 touchdowns while averaging 32.2 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 7.83 receiving yards per game.

Coleman Made His Presence Known in Granada's 48-6 Win

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Maddox Coleman stepped things up a notch to give Granada the 'W'. Coleman was dynamite, throwing for 91 yards and two touchdowns.

Coleman must have Walsh's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Coleman saw the Eagles), he rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 99 yards and two touchdowns.

William Ledbetter Makes It Two for Cheraw

The second Cheraw player making an appearance here is William Ledbetter, and for good reason. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season.

On the season, Ledbetter has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 92 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 14.43 rushing yards per game.

Alejandro Perez Turns in Season-Best Effort

Granada was led to victory by Alejandro Perez, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Perez rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

This year, Perez has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 18 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging one rushing yard per game.
