Soccer Game Preview: Ridge View vs. Sumter

The Ridge View Blazers will face off against the Sumter Gamecocks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge View's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Friday, Ridge View didn't have quite enough to beat West Florence and fell 2-1.

The Blazers' goal came courtesy of Freddy Martinez Arellano, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Sumter was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Blythewood by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for Sumter in their meetings with Blythewood: they've now lost seven in a row.

Sumter's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Ridge View, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Ridge View beat Sumter 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Blazers repeat their success, or do the Gamecocks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
