Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Greeneville's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Greeneville barely beat Claiborne the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Greene Devils came out on top against the Bulldogs on Tuesday by a score of 12-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Greene Devils have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Greeneville let Kaley Garland and Kyla Jobe run wild. Garland went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Jobe went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Jobe is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destani Bailey, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Greeneville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.

Greeneville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Claiborne, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Greeneville nor Claiborne have any future games scheduled.
