Strongsville is 2-8 against Brunswick since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mustangs will host the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
If Strongsville beats Brunswick with 11 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Lorain on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Addison Heidenhoffer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Alyssa Agbuya was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylen Clough, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Strongsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brunswick). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Cleveland Heights a 19-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Blue Devils have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Kaelyn Stolarski, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Nemec, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Strongsville's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Brunswick, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Strongsville's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Mustangs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Brunswick, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Strongsville continue to outrun the ball?
Strongsville suffered a grim 21-3 defeat to Brunswick in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
